Multilingual Web Content Management

The client: Swagelok, a global manufacturing corporation with a network of more than 200 exclusive, independent sales and service centers on six continents.

The challenge: Swagelok’s website, which is available in seven languages, is a key part of their ongoing marketing, communications and customer service strategy. The e-commerce capabilities of the site are continually being upgraded to better serve customers, and the site has achieved substantial recognition. Updating the frequently changing content on the site, however, took substantial effort and required the involvement of many individuals from several different parts of the organization. As the site grew and new languages were added, administrative headaches grew. A solution to allow non-technical users to update frequently changing areas of the site was imperative.

The solution: iData worked with Swagelok to implement Synapse Publisher to allow non-technical users to maintain Web content in seven languages.

The results: The administrative burden of maintaining the site has decreased substantially. The site is now more up to date and more frequently updated. Non-technical users in Asia, Europe and North America can make updates to the various language versions of the site with no help from the IS department. Learn More
